Functional Skills
English
Tuition Overview
Functional Skills English is a nationally recognised qualification that focuses on the practical reading, writing and communication skills people need for everyday life, work and further education.
Learners develop confidence in:
-
Reading and understanding a wide range of everyday texts
-
Writing clearly, accurately and for a specific purpose
-
Speaking, listening and communication in practical contexts
-
Spelling, punctuation and grammar needed for work, study and daily life
With extensive experience teaching Functional Skills English, I help young people and adults progress towards achieving Functional Skills English at Entry Levels 1–3, Level 1, and Level 2 (equivalent to a GCSE pass). It is often the qualification learners need to access college courses, apprenticeships, employment or further training.
I specialise in teaching neurodivergent and SEND learners, and those who thrive with a calm, confidence-building approach. I hold high aspirations for all.
I am pleased to offer a limited number of spaces for 1:1 or group tuition online, or in learner’s homes.
